Experiencing Ice Cream from Around the World

Posted by & filed under .

One of the best things about traveling is you don’t have to follow any rules. You can turn any vacation into an adventure at any time. I’ve always been a world traveler and I’ve seen a lot of sights. But after a while, I found my vacations were getting stagnant. I was visiting the same types of places while following similar habits and routines. I decided if I wanted to get the most out of my overseas vacations, I would have to make a change. That’s when I decided to concentrate my vacations on learning about other cultures and their food.

And since one of my favorite foods of all time is ice cream, that’s where I started. Concentrating on something as simple as ice cream has led to many interesting experiences. It gives me a chance to meet people at the local level while sharing food that’s universal. I’ve discovered intriguing differences in how some cultures make ice cream. There are some ingredients that I’ve never even seen before. But when it comes down to it, the reason why I love ice cream is exactly the same reason why someone from Germany, Italy, or France loves it. It tastes great!

Argentina – if you’re lucky enough to travel to Argentina, you have to stop off at one of their local ice cream vendors. When you get an all-natural version of ice cream from one of these vendors, it contains more milk than an American recipe. This results in a rich and creamy ice cream with a special texture and sweetness. The most popular flavor in this country is dulce de leche, and it tastes a lot like milk caramel.

Canada – this friendly country has a long history with frosted treats. In addition to Maple syrup poured on ice, they have some of the best tasting ice cream in the world (as you would expect from a country with a cold climate). If you’re lucky enough to visit Vancouver BC, you need to stop off at La Casa Gelato – an ice cream parlor should with over 200 flavors! They actually have 500 flavors in total, but only serve 200 at any given time.

China – you can find a dessert that’s very similar to ice cream in parts of southern China. It’s made of Mung beans and has a very similar texture to traditional ice cream. Of course they enjoy popular favorites like of vanilla and strawberry as well. You’ll also find the creative use of beans as toppings on ice cream. For example, ice cream with red beans and whip cream is a popular treat. In fact, you can also find a delicious version of red bean ice cream that has it tastes like you’ve never experienced before.

Italy – there’s only one word that comes to mind when it comes to Italy and ice cream Gelato! This popular version of ice cream has traveled to North American shores and reached a huge fan base. But you haven’t had true gelato until you’ve experienced it in Italy. There something about the atmosphere and the people that adds to the overall authenticity of this marvelous frosty treat. Most parlors still use traditional handmade methods that give you a great tasting gelato wherever you go.

Japan – the Japanese enjoy all the traditional flavors that we do. They are one of the biggest consumers of ice cream on the planet, and they love simple flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. But they also have their own versions of ice cream that are different than anything we get at home. For example, green tea ice cream is to die for. When made authentically, it has just the right mixture of green tea taste and ice cream sweetness. They also have brilliant versions of coconut and mango ice cream that are much lighter than anything you find in the States.

Of course the best ice cream in the world is found right at home. If youre hungry for a nice scoop of ice cream, why not make it yourself? This article comes from www.icecreamakers.com, and it’s the perfect site to visit if you want to explore this fantastic dessert more.

Posted by & filed under .

When we need to carry supplies to set up our festivals, we only use the best vans.  How do we know which vans have the ability to provide us with everything we need? We use a few websites to search for transport and work vehicles.  The first website we go to is http://usedvansguide.com.

We also use http://craigslist.org; however, I believe that the best resource for buying vans is craigslist or eBay.  Anyways, if you guys want a few reliable places to learn about van purchases, then go to the site above.
